Hydroponics-The future of sustainable farming
1. Rajasthan's agricultural scenario is hampered by three main problems-
water scarcity, bad soil and harsh climate. But Hydroponics can target all of these problems at the same time
and potentially solve them.
2. Climate change is a very serious crisis, which threatens to destroy
the ecologoical balance of very Earth itself. With the threat of water crisis and deforestation, it is not
far-fetched to think many of the world's greenest pastures can dry up and turn into deserts. If we cannot
prevent this, we must prepare for such a possibility.
3. Rajasthan has one of the largest unarable land percentages in India,
with the majority of it covered in a vast desert. While traditional agriculture is an impossibility in
Rajasthan, hydroponics can make use of this land effectively, giving out multitudes of produce in the same.
